Babak Nemati Quartet

Fresh band, new sound! The Babak Nemati Quartet consists of open-minded, experienced and highly experimental modern jazz musicians from Switzerland, Spain and Iran. Shortly after the group was founded in early 2011 by Persian leader and guitarist Babak Nemati in Zurich, Switzerland, the four dedicated members found themselves locked in a recording studio, creating their first album with seven original compositions. By September 2012, Seven Good Wishes had made its way into the catalogue of the Swiss jazz label Altrisuoni (Catalogue -> Babak Nemati Quartet). Shortly thereafter the quartet, consisting of Babak Nemati (guitar), Carles Peris (saxes, flutes), Beat Gisler (electric bass) and Olaf Ryter (drums), embarked on a successful on-and-off club tour across Western Europe, which lasted until spring 2014, to promote the album. The band has continued to develop. The second Album entitled "Zarathustra" was released by Unit Records (CH) in September 2015. Since February 2016 Fridolin Blumer (double bass) is a new band member. In May 2017, the band recorded their third album entitled "Safar - Die Reise - The Journey
