| liner notes: |
Interpreting open themes as well as originally strict compositions
Founded in 1989, the band focuses on interpreting open themes as well as originally strict compositions. This approach allows the musicians to improvise within the structures and acrosss forms, to break open pieces, to rearrange themes and ideas spontaneously. The quartet excites by its strong ties to the traditional sound of jazz but plays over and against it in a fascinating and fully contemporary way. |
