Henry Hahnfeldt und Jan Lukas Roßmüller lernten sich im Musikstudium kennen und spielten über mehrere Jahre in verschiedenen Formationen zusammen. Schnell entstand der Wunsch gemeinsam ein Duo-Projekt zu gründen. Die ungewöhnliche Besetzung macht einen großen Reiz aus. Durch gemeinsames Experimentieren und Forschen entwickelte die Musik von Book of R einen eigenen Charakter und erinnert nur noch entfernt an frühere Vorbilder wie Mehliana. Gamble Music ist das Debut Album des jungen Duos.

Book of R ist der Soundtrack zur mystischen Spannung einer Spielothek - ein vielfältiges Projekt aus dem Jazzbereich, das keine Scheu hat sich den Einflüssen der Gegenwartskultur zu öffnen. Transparente Grooves vermischt mit elektronischen Klangflächen erzeugen einen magisch minimalistischen Vibe, der solistischer Entwicklung von Ideen Raum lässt.
