Emitime is the result of a collaboration between musicians residing in three different cities: Buenos Aires, New York, and Zurich. Despite their geographical dispersion, their diverse experiences and musical backgrounds converge on their latest release “Morfosis”. Recorded following tours in Switzerland and New York in May 2022, the album captures the essence of their collective creativity.
The band's inception took place in Brooklyn in October 2019, where Argentine pianist Santiago Leibson, bassist Santiago Lamisovski, and Swiss drummer Samir Böhringer first convened as a trio. A common metamorphosis is evident in every composition: be it in the structures of the sounds, the harmonic concepts or the collective improvisations. The title piece “morfosis” stands as an exposition at the beginning and reappears between the other compositions as abstract interventions “morfosis meta”.
